What inspires me?

When I think about what inspires me, photography is usually the first thing that comes to my mind. Crafting is usually second, but the craft is usually for photography purposes.

I look at other photographers and think about how amazing thier work is and how awe inspiring. I wonder often if my work will ever be as good, fun, quirky.

I want to find MY STYLE. I just can't seem to define what that lookslike..
Here are a few of my images that i feel very happy with. Maybe I can find a similarity between them that will help to define me.

Could it be as simple as light and grass? None of these have props... Just beautiful light, long grass, and faces. Is it ok to be that simplistic?

Robot Party

The Robot Party went really well! Solomon really enjoyed himself and I think everyone else enjoyed the party as well. I thought I would share some of the details from the party with all of you!

We went with a Blue and Orange color theme since I already had some decoration elements in that color from Solly's room. (which is also robot themed)

Each of the food items had thier own "Title"

Instead of having cake (Solly isn't a big fan) we decided to make Rice Crispy robots. Each kid got a rice crispy treat to design into a robot.

It was really fun seeing some of thier creations!

At the end of the party every one got to "Adopt-a-Bot"

It was a really long day and Solomon ended up getting sick at the end of it. So on sunday we stayed home from church.
We have such great friends and we really appreciate everyone who came out to celebrate with us!

Happy Birthday Solomon!

Two years ago, today I became the mommy of a fantastic little boy. I was the woman who had no idea what she was going to do with a boy. But I am soo blessed that I get to be Solomons Mommy. He is such a loving, curious, monkey. He has the funniest sense of humor.

(this is the exact moment he got his nick name "Solly". All through my pregnancy I couldn't think of a good nick name for Solomon. The moment he was in my arms and crying all I could say was "Don't cry Solly". And it stuck)

The name Solomon means "peace" and he was the most calm baby you could ever meet. Everyone always said how smiley he was and how they never saw him cry.

Today he is still very easy going and smiley.

Things he likes:

Backpacks

Drums
"poom-pooms" (guns)
Bikes
Movies
"Games" (any game played on mama's kindle fire)
Basketball

Now onto the good stuff! Here are some pictures from his birthday day:

Last Day

Today was the last day. The last day that Solomon will ever be 1 year old.
We decided to make it a fun day that was worth remembering. We started our day at play group. There are lots of fun things to do at play group but the thing that really grabbed our attention this week was the craft table. We spent most of our time making valentines for our friends.
Side Note: Which if you know Elenore, you know that this isn't a strange occourance. She would spend all day making cards if she could. For example this was two days ago:

Now for our Valentines Day cards:

After Play group we headed out to our friends house to visit Jen, Silas, and Ezra. Where we played outside with bikes and make some valentines day cookies. (We have the best friends)

The last thing that we did today is a very important tradition in my family. Every year on the eve of my birthday, my mom would say to me, "Make sure you look in the mirror before you go to bed because you are going to be a whole year older tommorow. You will look SO different!" This fun game is something that I want to pass onto my children. It was always something that made me feel special and excited for the next year ahead.

Imagine This

Imagine This:
Your beautiful daughter is no longer a little girl but a full grown woman. Today is her wedding day, she's picked out her dress, She couldn't look more stunning.
Today I had a glimpse of that moment. I let Elenore try on my wedding dress. I can't believe how long her hair is getting. I hope some day, perhaps on her wedding day, she looks back at these pictures and they make her happy.

Exciting New Adventure!

For the past few weeks I have been very unsettled. I knew that something needed to change in my life. I was spending too much time worrying about my photography business then actually enjoying taking portaits. I had gotten so far away from what I really love to do.

I love capturing moments. I especially love capturing moments featuring these two sweeties:

Elenore {3 years old}

Solomon {23 months old}

I have decided to take a break from persuing my business at this time and take the time to enjoy my babies! Time goes by so fast I don't want to miss it.
